Just hours before the trailer launch of Shah Rukh Khan‘s much awaited Raees, we have a good news for y’all! Now your wait to witness the magic of Shah Rukh Khan on the big screen as a Gujrati bootlegger is a day lesser. Yes! Instead of January 26 release, film will be now be releasing a day earlier i.e on January 25, 2017. Considering January 26 is a Republic Day, which is a national holiday. This was inevitable and expected as a film as big as Raees would like to milk on the fact that next day (January 26) will be an off and people will come out in hoards to watch the film especially in the evening shows of the film. So releasing the film a day before, makes much sense rather than releasing it on Republic Day.
Now things get interesting here as Raees is all set to clash with Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil once again. When Raees was postponed and announced for a January 26, 2017 release, makers of Kaabil, in order to avoid the clash, announced their release a day i.e the eveing of January 25 to milk in on next day’s national holiday. Now that Raees too will be arriving on the same day with the only difference being it’ll be a regular release and not like Kaabil which is aiming for an evening release. Makers of Raees are expected to announce about the same at the trailer launch. Talking about the trailer of Raees, as reported by BollywoodLife earlier, it is everything you expect it to be. The film’s trailer already is praised for showcasing Shah Rukh Khan in an action avatar, massy dialogues, Shah Rukh Khan’s look etc. Going by the first line of the story, this is the context we are talking about. The last few films of Shah Rukh Khan, like Dilwale and FAN may have not worked as per our expectations. Sure, Dear Zindagi redeemed his star value for us, but he was there in a supporting role to Alia Bhatt’s main lead. Here, Rahul Dholakia finally utilises his larger than life image to create a powerful action avatar for Shah Rukh Khan. You might have seen glimpses of that in Dilwale and FAN, but here he is in that traditional maar dhaad stuff that will appeal to everyone. So yeah, Shah Rukh Khan is back! But Raees‘ dialogues are more than just powerful – they even have that philosophical flavour to it, that are well-thought and written with convicted. Rest assured that once the trailer is out, we can see the dialogues as the captions for many T-shirts – Baniye ki dimaag aur Miyaanbhai ke daring being one of many… Image credit: Facebook As our editor pointed, this is how Rahul Dholakia would perceive the classic Don if he ever got the chance to make it. Right from SRK’s body language, the dialogues and that powerful BG score with Gujarati elements – the trailer has everything that makes it our era’s Don, never mind the remakes that came before (also starring Shah Rukh Khan). BTW the cinematography is fantastic as well. Image credit: Facebook We saw how Ali Zafar was ignored in the promotions of Dear Zindagi, despite having sufficient screen time (at least more than Angad Bedi’s, who just had two scenes and yet had found berth for himself in the promotions), following the anti-Pakistani sentiment that’s going on. So we were worried whether the same fate would befell Mahira as well. But our worries were misplaced as the trailer gives her ample screen time. She even has a very cute romantic scene with Shah Rukh Khan, that you have to watch out for.
