Voilà un bon moment que javais envie de me transformer à nouveau... Et cette fois-ci, une inspiration qui nest pas si éloignée de mes origines (ma grand-mère paternelle était à moitié indienne !), mais aussi une bonne occasion de me peinturlurer les yeux tout en regardant Om Shanti Om pour la énième fois.
Tout est parti de la palette "Devoted to fans" dYves Saint Laurent, reçue grâce à Ykone. Réaliser plusieurs combinaisons me semble la meilleure façon non seulement de mamuser et de vous amuser, et surtout de me motiver à jouer avec mon appareil photo. Et puis... pourquoi pas finir par porter le bleu au quotidien ?

"Brrrrrrrrooowwww"went the sound of my engine winding down.
I nearly wet my pants.
Why? Minor detail: I was still 10 miles from the airport, at an altitude of 3,500 in a single engine Grumman Cheetah.
I was a 20-something flight student working on a college degree and a CPL (commercial pilots License.) My college, Cochise, had a runway right on campus. A "poor mans Embry Riddle," I liked to call it.
Located smack in the heart of nowhere and six miles north of the Arizona/Mexico border, the campus offered wide open, clear blue skies for us fledgelings to spread our wings. While the Sonoran desert below offered relatively flat terrain, none of us newly-hatched chicks wanted to brave the cactus-strewn, rattlesnake- and scorpion-infested wastelands in a 4-seat accidental glider.
And yet, There I Wuz . . .
Speaking of nearly wetting my pants . . .
On one of my most memorable cross country flights at the same college, I found myself an hour away from my destination—Deer Valley Airport, in the northwest Phoenix Valley—when I had to go pee.
Really, really bad.
Checking the fuel supply, I firewalled the throttle. The engine screamed. The airspeed indicator leapt from 115 kts to . . . 116. I asked Albuquerque Center for a direct routing to destination. No such luck. I seriously considered diverting to an emergency alternate. But try explaining that to the dean.

Inch by maddening inch, I inched toward my destination. After an eternity, the Phoenix Valley loomed into sight. Deer Valley lay on the opposite side of the metro area—another 10 minutes to cross.
Having received my PPL (Private Pilot License) training in the Valley of the Sun, I was more than familiar with the old landmarks. However, my bladders overpressure relief valve was so far past its design limit, I was near panic. As I frantically scanned the city, nothing looked familiar. Fortunately, Phoenix ATC vectored me straight to Deer Valley airport, where, after several bladder-jarring bounces, I touched down. I fast-taxiied to the parking area, set the brake, killed the ignition and eased out of the cockpit. No "hopping out" for me; any fast movements, and my jeans would be a darker shade of blue.
I waddled to the bathroom, doing my best to look nonchalant.
Today, I am happy to say, all my flights are on airliners with plenty of lavs available. But I think, even after 17,000 more hours under my belt since that fateful day, my internal overpressure relief valve has been fully trained to come nowhere near its design limit ever again.
Our Lesson Here:
—Always take a whiz before flight.
—Dont load up too much on coffee.

As for my engine winding down?
My heart leapt in my throat. I immediately lowered the nose to keep airspeed. My brain switched into overdrive, calculating the probabilities of deadsticking in to our runway, and searching for an alternate, snake- and cactus-infested gully in which to land.
Just like the problem of diverting to take a whiz, I knew the best outcome would be that Id earn the constant ribbing of my peers, and some horrid nickname that Id never live down.
At worst, Id die.

That reminds me of another good lesson, that of James Richards (not his real name), my fellow Alaska bush pilot in Juneau. One day, while taxiing his Cessna 207 around a line of airplanes, he took the turn a little too hot and tight. His wing dinged another wing. Result: two busted nav lights. No big deal. But it earned him an "incident" in the FAA playbook, and the dubious nickname of "Crash."
He hated that name with a passion, but it stuck with him for the rest of the season. Today, "Crash" Richards is a senior Captain at Alaska Airlines.
Captain Richards is also the original inspiration for the name of my character Jake "Crash" Whitakker, the legendary bush pilot in my novel, The Last Bush Pilots. Larger than life, Jake is equally adept at landing planes and ladies—and "crashin em," too. See his story below!

CHAPTER 5: Jake “Crash” Whitakker
In the ego-filled world of Alaskan commercial pilots, Jake Whitakker was the undisputed king of flight. This was not consciously acknowledged by those around him, it was simply understood as fact. Many disagreed with his cowboy ways in the cockpit, especially FAA Inspector Bruner and his government cohorts back in Oklahoma City.
Nevertheless, Whitakker’s airmanship remained unquestioned. And as a hunting and fishing guide, Jake Whitakker had no equal.
Born in Kalispell, he spent much of his youth hunting the Montana wilds under his prospector daddy’s muddy boots. With Mom gone long before his memory, young Jake learned to bring home the buck and skin it while Dad panned and sluiced his way across the Rockies, Canada, and finally Alaska. Squandering a healthy family inheritance, father and son traveled in an aging Piper Super Cub, which Jake soloed before his thirteenth birthday.
A year later, his flight-of-fancy life suddenly crashed and burned.
In a bar room shootout over a shady lady, Jake lost his one anchor: his friend, his mentor, his hero. His dad. For the first time in his life, Jake was alone. Abandoned by the one he loved.
Devastated, a wall went up around him.
Authorities sent the wild boy to a Catholic orphanage. Though Catholic on the birth certificate, he’d rarely set foot in a church. Like Tarzan coming to the city, he didn’t fit in, didn’t belong. And he didn’t care. Weekly fistfights with the other boys and the nuns’ daily knuckle rappings did little to temper his demeanor, for the seeds of his life had already been sewn. Jake Whitakker was a renegade and mountain man, born and bred.
After high school, to finance his commercial flight training, he landed a summer job on a forest fire fighting crew. Each season he worked up the fireman’s ladder, eventually landing in the copilot seat of a slurry bomber, a modified C-130. Flying troops and slurry over the burning brush, he and his crew squeezed the twin engine turboprop plane into and out of some of the shortest dirt strips in the country.
Once, during a low pass over a particularly hot fire, an underground fuel tank exploded, sending liquid fire and shrapnel flying into his path. He banked hard and climbed, but too late.
The number two engine disintegrated and his right wing caught fire. Before the captain and crew realized what had even happened, he calmly deadsticked the craft into a meadow, dumping the slurry as he did. The plane landed, wheels up, in a cloud of red dust. The fire retardant doused the flames, and though the plane was a total loss, the men escaped with few injuries and no burns.
The action earned him command of his own ship, and the dubious nickname of “Crash.”
A small scar from that action graced his square chin cleft, complimenting his woodsman’s good looks. And at six feet two of swaggering muscle, he was equally skilled at landing ladies.
During winter months he flew, backpacked and hunted the wilds of North America. His outdoor talents caught the eye of a U.S. Fish and Wildlife official, who talked him into taking on another role: Game Warden. Jake’s contempt for poachers nearly equaled his passion for hunting, as only a man brought up firsthand to understand nature’s delicate balance could. He added to the Department’s arsenal a most effective weapon: a floatplane. With great mobility, efficiency and zeal, the man enforced his beat.
It was an idyllic, if ironic, existence for the wild man. But even along the Canadian border, civilization hounded him. Finally, a tough young Yupik Eskimo named Sophie, working a summer job for the forest service, caught his eye. Sparks flew as hot as the embers from his old job, melting the glacial ice around his heart. But when the season ended, despite Jake’s frantic pleading, she returned to her native village of Akiachak, Alaska.
Abandoned yet again by the one he loved, Jake was crushed. He took a long hard look at his life, then looked at her photo. He recalled his youth in the vast Alaskan Interior. The land and Sophie beckoned.
“To hell with it,” he said, and followed her to Alaska.
The love affair, so perfect in the Lower Forty Eight, was a train wreck. Only Eluk, the family’s new Alaskan Malamute puppy, seemed to enjoy his presence. Including Sophie.
Sensing her slipping away, he begged her to marry him. She refused. More to the point, her family refused. While a Gussik husband might mean a step up in wealth, a pilot would never be around to help during the tough times. Moreover, Sophie’s father had other plans for her, in the form of a tribal official in Bethel.
Jake left with his tail between his legs. With his tail wagging, Eluk followed. Except for the affection Jake felt for his new companion, the glacial wall around his heart refroze. He fled as far as possible, to the opposite corner of the state, from Sophie. But never again did he leave Alaska.
Joining an upstart air taxi firm in Juneau called Southeast Alaskan Seaplanes, Whitakker quickly gained a reputation as one of the region’s premier hunting and flying guides.
But that was not the only fame he gained. While some said he invited the worst of luck, to pilots he enjoyed the best. Starting with his legendary slurry bomber crash, Jake survived no less than two accidents and three “incidents,” as the National Transportation Safety Board called his minor crackups in typically dry government legalese. He walked away from them all. And, while eighty percent of all aviation crashes were attributed, rightly or wrongly, to “pilot error,” only one was ever blamed on him.
The accident had occurred in Gastineau Channel. Summer tourist season had brought yet another luxury cruise ship into port, and while some passengers power-shopped downtown, the more adventurous signed up for the SEAS’ glacier “flightseeing” tours.
Sunny skies and whitecaps promised a scenic but bumpy ride for Whitakker’s passengers.
A barf bagger day for sure, Jake thought with a grim smile, as he flew his floatplane up the Gastineau Channel toward the cruise ship.
Jake’s de Havilland Beaver led a squadron of cohorts, strung in trail from the airport. Like Navy pilots in a carrier pattern, each planned to touch down, glide up to the ship dock, load up and launch again, only seconds apart. All part of the show.
Slowing the Beaver to final approach speed, Whitakker scanned the channel for boat and plane traffic. Calculating wind, waves and channel current, he selected the prime touch down point which would slide his bird up to the dock with minimal work.

Here I will try to explain how to use Boolean operators effectively to extract most suitable profiles from resume database.
Here are two cases out of which I will take one and make an effective search string using Boolean operators.You can take the other case or think of a case on your own and try to use Boolean operators for it. This will help you learn it better.
Case 1: We are searching for candidates with core java and multi threading skills and Unix or Linux or Solaris platform experience but he should not have worked in telecom or networking domain.
Case 2: We are looking for sales managers in insurance domain but he should have retail experience not institutional or corporate sales.
Main Boolean operators:
• AND is used when we want both skill sets such as X AND Y
• OR is used when we want any of the available options i.e.: X OR Y OR Z
• Bracket/parentheses () is used when AND and OR functions are used in same string. i.e.: X AND (Y OR Z). The above search means X is mandatory and either of Y or Z will do.
• Quotation mark”—“is used when we are looking for exact phrases i.e. “technical architect”. This search will find resumes with exact phrase “technical architect” written in them.
• NOT- NOT is used when we don’t want a specific word in a resume i.e.: (X AND Y) AND NOT Z.

• NOT- NOT is used when we don’t want a specific word in a resume i.e.: (X AND Y) AND NOT Z.

Here, I will take the 1st case:
1) If we put a search - Corejava AND multithreading, we will find profiles where all these words are mentioned i.e.: all the candidates might have worked on corejava , multithreading .
2) Now the problem is - there may be many profiles where people would have written corejava as core java and multithreading as multi threading or multi-threading. We don’t want to miss any of them. So how do we accommodate them? Here OR function comes handy. We can change our search string to - (Corejava OR “Core java”) AND (multithreading OR “multi threading” OR “multi-threading”).
3) But we are looking for people who have worked either unix or linux or solaris platform. So now the string becomes (Corejava OR “core java”) and (multithreading OR “multi threading” OR “multi-threading”) and (unix OR linux OR solaris) .
4) Now we are looking for people who have worked in core java, multithreading in unix/linux/solaris platform but he should not be from telecom or networking background.
So the search string we can use is (Corejava OR “core java”) AND (multithreading OR “multi threading” OR “multi-threading”) AND (unix OR linux OR solaris) AND NOT (telecom OR networking).
Now this is a strong Boolean search string which covers all the aspects of the case. Here the results will be lesser in number yet most relevant - exactly what we want.
As I told you earlier, only reading will not do. Take an example and try using the Boolean operators one by one. Look at the results and analyze them. You will find out the pattern very soon.
Some recommendations:
• When ever searching for any skill try to put all the alternatives a candidate could have used to mention that skills set i.e. (multithreading OR “multi threading” OR “multi threading”). This will make your search more robust.
• Use NOT operator carefully. For example: You have mentioned NOT X where you don’t want people who have worked on X skill. Here the search will remove every resume where X is mentioned even once . As a result you may miss some people who have worked in your required skill sets and casually written X once or twice somewhere in there resumes. So before putting NOT operator, think of all the outcomes.

CRB Tech Reviews write about the 13th November epispde of popular TV show Bigg Boss where Tanishaa Mukerji, Kamya and VJ Andy join Salman Khan in taking a dig at the eager contestants while Bani J and Lopamudra Raut get into a wrestling match with each other.
The Weekend with Salman Khan in Bigg Boss 10 was a very entertaining last night. Salman Khan while making an exposure of all the contestants of all their foul plays and even said them that they are very boring in the house. Personally I loved when; the best part was seeing Bhai taking a dig at himself. While mentioning Manu’s time in the Bigg Boss house jail Bhai said, “Kabhi kabhi nirdosh ko bhi jail jaana padhta hai” while pointing at self. A step further he went when he said that contestants are not being entertaining, more was expected.
We think Salman is disappointed with the contestants, mainly Karan Mehra, Gaurav Chopra, Rohan Mehra and Rahul Dev, and had something to do with the falling TRPs of the show. Usually the show gets 1.4 TRP on weekdays and 1.6 on weekends. To mention, in an upcoming episode, Himesh Reshammiya makes Weekend Ka Vaar musical with his calibre.
As per reports some neck breaking performances are expected like a wrestling pit in which two contestants will be wrestling each other to emerge winner. While Gaurav wrestles with Manveer Gurjar, Bani J is asked to compete with Lopamudra Raut. We at CRB Tech Reviews, are more excited to see Bani wrestle with Lopamudra.
So when they wrestled, Bani and Navin get into a huge fight when Bani named him a liar. And Navin kept screaming till he couldn’t hear anything only his voice. Let’s see how it concludes. Even we saw how after Kamya Punjabi, Tanishaa Mukerji and VJ Andy joined Salman Khan in taking a dig at the contestants and giving expressing their minds. Tanishaa told Bani that she has been playing the game entirely wrong and is portraying herself as a confused and weak contender.
Let’s wait and watch if advice of Tanishaa and Andy to the Bigg Boss contestants bring any difference and make the show more interesting and help the show gain the falling TRP game.

Sometimes, a beauty box is filled with fabulous goodies that fill you with joy and seasonally appropriate cheer. Other times, its a beauty blogger nightmare that is so boring that its difficult to even say anything about it.
This is a story about the latter scenario. Yall are lucky you didnt get a blank page and a shrug.
Heres what I got:
FusionBeauty Lash Fusion XL (0.28 oz), approximate retail value $16.00
I was already giving this product a little of side-eye before I tried it, since its not-exactly-stunning two out of five star average review is enough to raise a few eyebrows.
Sure enough, this mascara is a flop. Except, you know, flops have drama. The most hilarious part about this mascara, to me, is Birchboxs rather banal claim that "You’ll only need one coat for long, glamorous lashes." This is just blatantly false. A single coat of this mascara is invisible. If you reeeally coat on that dry-as-hell formula, you can get some very natural looking lashes. Whoever labeled this "XL" needs a new size chart.
The one thing I will say about this mascara is that it would be a good choice for anyone who goes head-over-heels for the "no makeup makeup" look. Unsubtle mascara and glossy lips are the two things that most easily ruin the makeup-free illusion. This product wont betray you there.

Benta Berry G1 Exfoliating Facial Cleanser (0.1 fl oz), approximate retail value $1.60
This... is... a facewash. You can wash your face with it. I have literally nothing of note to say about it. Its exfoliate-y. If you put it in drugstore packaging and told me it cost $3, I would believe you.
Dr. Lipp Original Nipple Balm for Lips (0.1 fl oz), approximate retail value $2.90
If you have ever pet a sheep, you are familiar with the feeling on lanolin, a secretion from wool-producing livestock comprised mostly of waxy esters. Dr. Lipps Nipple Balm is just a big tube of lanolin.
As the product name suggests, lanolin is frequently used to soothe the sore nipples of breastfeeding mothers. (Dr. Lipp is really embracing the "nipple" theme by adorning their website with drawings of pin-up girls patting a small doctor-man on the head.) On your lips, it works as an emollient.
Even though the ingredients are different, I found it striking how similar this product felt to a tube of Carmex with the word "nipple" on the front. (Carmex usually includes lanolin as the fourth ingredient.)

I have no idea what this product is. Is it a heat protectant? Well, it doesnt have any of the ingredients that heat protectants have... (For more about the science of heat protectants, click here.) Its got keratin in it, but that means absolutely nothing. You might be able to use it for styling, but, given that I style my hair literally never, thats not very helpful. Birchbox is calling this a "hair lotion", but I have no idea what that even means.
It smells kinda nice, so I guess theres that...?
Emilys Chocolates Chocolate Covered Fortune Cookies (1), approximate retail value $1.00
This was definitely my favorite thing in this box (not that it had a shitload of competition). Although its not an intuitive combination, the milk chocolate plus fortune cookie pairing is basically brilliant. I will probably throw in a few of these the next time I make an order from the Birchbox shop.
I seriously doubt theyll last very long, though.

Can you believe it!?! I am actually blogging about something savory today! Not sweet but savory! Honestly, I couldnt help myself. I found the recipe for these little yummy treasure bites on Megans blog called, Cooking Whims. Cooking Whims was my Secret Recipe Club assignment for this past month. What fun I have had browsing through Megans blog! Megan lives in New England (the Boston area) and it always makes me happy when I find a fellow food blogger from New England. Megan also has a soft spot for all things sweet. Hello HAPPINESS!
I almost made her Chocolate Peanut Butter Surprise Cookies but then realized that maybe I should make something with banana in it as I had a lot of VERY ripe bananas that needed to be used. I looked closely at her recipe for Chocolate Swirled Banana Bread until I realized that I needed something with veggies for dinner that night. Thus I ended up making these fabulous Broccoli Cheddar Bites. Everyone loved them! The kiddos loved dipping them in Honey Mustard sauce and the adults enjoyed just popping them right into their mouth. These bites can easily be served as an appetizer or a side dish. No matter what they will disappear fast!
I thank Megan for all her dedicated work that she has put into her food blog. I thoroughly enjoyed "visiting her" and discovering lots of new recipes that I cant wait to make in my near future!
Broccoli Cheddar Bites
(recipe found on Cooking Whims)
Ingredients:
1 (16 oz.) package of frozen broccoli florets, cooked according to package directions (I used 2 cups of fresh broccoli, steamed and cut up)
1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (I used 1 cup mozzarella cheese and 1/2 cup cheddar cheese)
3 eggs, beaten
1 cup Italian seasoned breadcrumbs
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Line a cookie sheet with foil sprayed with non-stick cooking spray or parchment paper.
2. Prepare broccoli - cool and chop up into uniform small pieces.
3. In a medium bowl combine beaten eggs, broccoli, cheese and bread crumbs with a wooden spoon until well combined.
4. Scoop batter into balls with a medium size scoop or spoon and place onto prepared cookie sheets. Flatten slightly with the back of your hand to create a patty or leave as is for a rounder "bite".
5. Bake for 15 minutes and then flip bites. Bake for an additional 5 minutes. Cool slightly and enjoy!
