Broadway Barks Tomorrow July 11
Broadway Barks Tomorrow July 11
Broadway Barks 11th Annual Adopt-a-thon is happening tomorrow from 3pm onwards at Shubert Alley (which runs past Shubert Theater, from W. 44th St. and W. 45th St., between 7th and 8th Avenues; across from Sardis). Broadway Barks is a charity organization founded by Bernadette Peters (Bettys neurotic mentor in the Yeti program on Ugly Betty; Broadways first Eponine in Les Miserables, &c. &c. &c.) and Mary Tyler Moore to help homeless New York City pets get adopted and to help out the many rescue organizations who save them daily. The pets arrive right after 3, the "show" is on at 5:30 and will include Angela Lansbury and numerous Broadway stars in addition to the two founding ladies and a charity auction of Broadway memorabilia. If youre interested in adopting a pet, its a good idea to show up with references (such as a note from your vet). Even if pet adoption is not in the cards for you right now, stop by and donate to a great cause. If you cant make it or live nowhere near NYC, you can make a donation online as well.
