Well, It is an SOP before flashing is to backup your current ROM and make a full dump rom. You can backup your current ROM with MTK Droid Tools. Or you can also backup via CWMR by holding volume up and down with power button. But I prefer using MTK Droid Tools.


Before using MTK Droid Tools, Make sure you have your USB Debugging ON and thus you should be ROOTED, because MTK Droid Tools will ask for your SuperSU access. When using MTK Droid Tools, It does not need to be that your phone has no battery and is off. You can backup your current rom using MTK Droid Tools even though if your phone is on, Just make sure that your phone has the USB Debugging Mode ON. But when using SPFT, Your phone should have no battery and is off.

Steps on how to BACKUP YOUR CURRENT ROM :

1. Download and Install MTK Droid Tools ( Latest Version if possible )
2. Extract the RAR file of MTK Droid Tools
3. Open the FOLDER of MTK Droid Tools
4. Install MTK Droid Tools ( The program which has a green icon )
5. After installing, Grab your USB cable and phone.
6. Plug in your phone and wait for a few seconds until MTK Droid Tools detect your phone.
7. After that, Go to the root,backup,recovery tab then click BACKUP.
8. BACKUP will take about 10-20 minutes or more based on how big is your data.
9. After that, a prompt or pop up will appear that says "Packing backup?" or "Pack backup?". Click YES in order for you to have the compressed RAR file of your full dump rom. ( The compressed RAR file is smaller in size than the decompressed or the folder file ) I personally prefer to keep the RAR file than the folder file.
10. There you go! Now you have your full dump rom!

Question : How will I use my full dump rom backup that I just made?

Before flashing your FULL DUMP ROM using SPFT. You should have wiped your cache, data, system and dalvik cache via CWMR. After wiping, Open SPFT then click "Firmware Upgrade" instead of "Download" then open SCATTER button then find your full dump rom folder or RAR. ( If it is RAR, extract it first ). Then open the scatter text or file. Now, make sure all of the check boxes are checked. Also make sure your phone's USB Debugging Mode is in ON. Click Download beside the Stop button in the SPFT. Plug your phone then wait for a few seconds then there you go!

Steps on how to ROOT :

For V0, V1, V2 ( Jellybean ) :

1. Download and Install Framaroot 1.9.3 or any version of it. I prefer 1.9.3. Bugs fixed already.
2. Open Framaroot App, Choose Install SuperSU.
3. Tap Barahir.
3. Reboot your phone after tapping Barahir.
4. Then your phone is rooted!

For V1, V2 ( Kitkat ) : CTR means Carliv Touch Recovery.

1. Download the CTR and ROOT for KK.
2. Extract the downloaded RAR files.
3. Open SPFT.
3. Choose "Download" instead of "Firmware Upgrade".
4. Click SCATTER file from the CTR for KK.
5. Once you find it, Open.
6. Make sure the RECOVERY check box is checked.
7. Plug in your phone then wait for a few seconds.
8. Then there you go!
9. After flashing the CTR.
11. Place the ROOT.zip for KK in your SD CARD.
12. After that. Go to your phone then hold volume up and down with power button.
13. Then tap install zip then choose the ROOT.zip for KK.
14. After doing that, Reboot your phone and now you are ROOTED!
