BLUE VELVET ON 16TH ST
BLUE VELVET ON 16TH ST
Dress - Free People (Similar) / Jacket - Missguided (Similar) / Boots - Zara (Similar)
Id bought this dress from Freepeople in the daytime and thought it perfect for a dinner and theatre occasion. I adore adding new fabrics and colours to my wardrobe and this number ticked both boxes. It is silky soft and is such a unique colour,
Then I was so glad to have a place to wear my new Zara gold heeled boots and On top I chucked over my Faux suede jacket which fits pretty much all occasions.

Black Velvet Cincher Review True Corset
Black Velvet Cincher Review True Corset
I own a fair few corsets by now, which is really fortunate for me as Ive come to love them as inner wear as well as outer-wear. Nothing smoothes the line under a pretty slinky dress quite like a corset. I own several patterns and colors, black, silver, blue, striped, damask, but what I really have been wanting for quite some time was a black velvet corset. When True Corset approached me to ask if I would like to review one of their corsets, I immediately jumped on the opportunity to add to my collection and try out a new corset retailer.

The model I chose was this Steel Boned Black Velvet Cincher Corset. The package came from True Corset quite quickly and bundled up nicely. Of course, its now approaching the humid, hot Maryland summer, so I wanted to wear it often sooner rather than later.

The laces on this corset are nice and sturdy and dont seem to be fraying at all around the grommets, which is good. On the inside, the corset is lined with a cottony fabric which keeps it from being hot and sticky against the skin. I couldnt find a stitch out of place on any of it.

All in all, though, I think this corset looks pretty great! It matches so many things in my closet and is going to be making a lot of appearances, especially when we reenter autumn and winter. I plan on keeping this corset as an outer piece, rather than a foundation garment, just because its so pretty.
If you are in the market for a new corset, or if you just want to stock up your wishlist for when you are, check out True Corset! The link to this velvet cincher is right here, but there are tons of other options. Their Gothic corsets collection is pretty gorgeous and fits a range of sizes while not breaking the bank.
What is your favorite corset, if you have one? If not, would you wear velvet in the summer?

Right from the word go, he transports you into an era that makes you believe in whatever you see and hear. Anurag, who has mostly been associated with offbeat cinema, sweeps you off the floor and also your imagination with BOMBAY VELVET. It wont be wrong to say that he has created the film with a right mix of great performances and eye-catching visuals. On the whole, BOMBAY VELVET is a visual masterpiece that is rich in form. If you want to be wowed by the detailing of the 1960s, superb performances of Ranbir Kapoor, Karan Johar and Anushka Sharma, then go ahead and watch this film.

Rather than being its own beast, Bombay Velvet is more a throwback to older, better gangster films by Hollywood legends .Theres a noticeable lack of humour in the film, even though the films elements are not dark enough to warrant such seriousness. The film is mainstream and filmi, so its hard to imagine why there is only one joke in the whole movie. However, make of it what you will, but for all its weaknesses, what Bombay Velvet lacks in complexity, it ultimately makes up for with its sheer beauty.

The first half is engaging as Kashyap draws you into Johnny, Rosie and Kaizads world. The second half isnt as tightly knit as the first as their lives unravel at a frenetic and confused pace. Bombay Velvet makes for a good one-time watch primarily due to good performances from its lead actors and a reminder of a forgotten era.

Bombay Velvet First Day Collection at Box Office India
Bombay Velvet First Day Collection at Box Office India

However, none of the film movies even came close to the much talked about 100 crore club.
But looks like, "Gabbar Is Back" will have the same fate at the box office as Ranbirs last film had.Released in a large number of theaters across the globe on 8 May, "Bombay Velvet" opened to an average response in the morning show on Friday. The film garnered positive response from both the audience as well as the critics and the word of mouth took its business upwards with the occupancy improving considerably in the later shows on the opening day itself.
Also, strong releases are lined in the coming week starting with Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharmas "Bombay Velvet". With the release of "Bombay Velvet" the screen count as well as box office income of the film will fall.
The film requires around 20 crore more to cross the 100 crore mark, but since its pace has slowed down it is highly unlikely for the film to achieve that mark.
"Bombay Velvet" affected the box office run of Akshays film due to which there was a fall in its income. The box office total of the film after second week might stand at approximately 80 crore.
With "Bombay Velvet" getting extremely positive opinion from critics as well as viewers, trade analysts in B-Town predict that the business of "Gabbar is Back" might further slide down on its second Saturday. But to everyones surprise, the movie witnessed 50% growth in its collection on the same day.
Having collected ?59.86 crore in the domestic market in its opening week, "Gabbar is Back" showed considerable amount of dip in its business on its second Friday. When compared to its opening day collection, the movie witnessed over 75% drop in its business on its eighth day in theatres.
Bombay Velvets one-week-old movie, "Bombay Velvet", has continued its run at the ticket counters in the second week. Its domestic collection has reached ?66.86 crore on its second Saturday.
