Bollywood superstars presented at the 2nd Big Star Entertainment Awards 2011 held at Bhavans College Grounds in Andheri, Mumbai on Sunday, December 18, 2011. It was really a night of shining stars event. Many popular Celebs like Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Jacqueline Fernandez, Dhanush and other Celebs were Present in the Event. Salman, Jaqueline Fernandez and Priyanka Chopra were amidst the performers and South star Dhanush given the live performance of Kolaveri Di song. The show, hosted by Shreyas Talpade and Irrfan Khan, is scheduled to air on STAR Plus on New Years Eve.

Fast Company has published an article this week titled, "How to Brainstorm Like a Googler."  The author is Veronique Lafargue, global head of content strategy at Google Apps for Work.  In many ways, the title ought to be, "How Google Employs IDEOs Design Thinking Process."   The article highlights the three broad phases of design thinking:  understanding and empathizing with the users, brainstorming, and prototyping.   The video below shows you a bit more about how this process works at Google.

The article has a couple of helpful tips and reminders for those engaged in brainstorming in their own organizations.  First, Google practices 10X thinking when they brainstorm.

Second, Google encourages people to try to state their ideas as concisely and crisply as possible.   Google talks about writing headlines.

Third, dont wait to prototype.  Move quickly from brainstorming to prototyping.

Boman Iranis son Danesh tied the knot to his long time girlfriend Reha Cama. Boman organised grand reception for all his friends and colleagues from the film industry on November 20. The best part of the reception was that the actor invited every co-star he has ever worked with. The grand wedding reception was held at at Rehas Home in Nana Chowk, Mumbai on Sunday evening. Bollywood romantic hero and fashion icon Dev Anand (at 88) passed away in London hospital. He was one of Bollywoods iconic actor-directors died of a massive cardiac arrest on Saturday night, December 3, 2011. Dev Anand, or Dev Saab produced and acted in dozens of movies like Munimji, C.I.D, Kalapani, Love Marriage, Kala Bazaar, Hum Dono, Guide. Dev Saab started his film career with Hum Ek Hain (1946) and delivered many hits movies like Paying Guest, Jewel Thief, CID, Johny Mera Naam, Hare Rama Hare Krishna and Des Pardes. He was the king of the black and white era with film. He was born in Gurdaspur on 26 September, 1923 and graduated in English literature from the Government Law College in Lahore. However, none of the film movies even came close to the much talked about 100 crore club.

But looks like, "Gabbar Is Back" will have the same fate at the box office as Ranbirs last film had.Released in a large number of theaters across the globe on 8 May, "Bombay Velvet" opened to an average response in the morning show on Friday. The film garnered positive response from both the audience as well as the critics and the word of mouth took its business upwards with the occupancy improving considerably in the later shows on the opening day itself.

Also, strong releases are lined in the coming week starting with Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharmas "Bombay Velvet". With the release of "Bombay Velvet" the screen count as well as box office income of the film will fall.

The film requires around 20 crore more to cross the 100 crore mark, but since its pace has slowed down it is highly unlikely for the film to achieve that mark.


"Bombay Velvet" affected the box office run of Akshays film due to which there was a fall in its income. The box office total of the film after second week might stand at approximately 80 crore.

With "Bombay Velvet" getting extremely positive opinion from critics as well as viewers, trade analysts in B-Town predict that the business of "Gabbar is Back" might further slide down on its second Saturday. But to everyones surprise, the movie witnessed 50% growth in its collection on the same day.

Having collected ?59.86 crore in the domestic market in its opening week, "Gabbar is Back" showed considerable amount of dip in its business on its second Friday. When compared to its opening day collection, the movie witnessed over 75% drop in its business on its eighth day in theatres.


Bombay Velvets one-week-old movie, "Bombay Velvet", has continued its run at the ticket counters in the second week. Its domestic collection has reached ?66.86 crore on its second Saturday.
